What Submit Actually Means at 5am
Submit is the first of The Five. And it's not soft.
Allah created us to worship Him. In return, He gave us trusts — your life, your family, your body. An amanah isn't something you hold onto passively. It's a debt. And the first rule of a debt is: pay what you owe immediately.
You cannot pray then go back to sleep
Fajr is the first act of submission. You rise, you pray, you acknowledge what you owe. And then you get to work paying the rest of it.
Your body is one of those trusts. Think of it like a car — skip the oil changes and it breaks down faster than it should. Same with your body. Training and movement aren't optional extras for the motivated. They're maintenance on something Allah lent you.
Then you fuel it correctly. It's 2026 — we don't need to guess anymore. We know calories. We know macros. We know that single-ingredient foods are the baseline and that backup options exist for every situation.
I did this working 6am to 8pm
I hear "I don't have time" and I understand it. I was in the office Monday through Thursday 6am to 8pm, Fridays 6 to 5, Saturdays 8 to noon. Plus a 52-minute commute each way. I had a fiancée. We had an active social life.
I found a way. Not because I'm special — because I understood what I owed and I paid it. If I could do it in that season, you can find a way in yours. Screw the excuse. Submit, then move.
