The whole prayer in order - Arabic, transliteration, meaning. Tap a part, keep it open on the mat, read straight off it. Read it enough and you will not need it.

Opening

Stand, then takbir

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Allaahu akbar

Allah is the greatest.

Opening words

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَىٰ جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلَٰهَ غَيْرُكَ

Subhaanaka-llaahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabaaraka-smuka, wa ta‘aalaa jadduka, wa laa ilaaha ghayruk.

Glory and praise be to You, O Allah. Blessed is Your name, exalted is Your majesty, there is no god but You.

Seek refuge

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

A‘oodhu billaahi minash-shaytaanir-rajeem.

I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the rejected.

Bismillah

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismillaahir-rahmaanir-raheem.

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Al-Fatihah

Al-Fatihah, said in every unit

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۝ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ۝ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۝ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ۝ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ۝ اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ۝ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ

Bismillaahir-rahmaanir-raheem. Al-hamdu lillaahi rabbil-‘aalameen. Ar-rahmaanir-raheem. Maaliki yawmid-deen. Iyyaaka na‘budu wa iyyaaka nasta‘een. Ihdinas-siraatal-mustaqeem. Siraatal-ladheena an‘amta ‘alayhim, ghayril-maghdoobi ‘alayhim wa lad-daalleen.

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful. All praise is for Allah, Lord of all worlds, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgement. You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help. Guide us to the straight path, the path of those You have blessed, not of those who earned anger, nor of those who went astray.

Then

آمِين

Aameen.

Say it after Al-Fatihah. Then, in units 1 and 2 only, recite a short surah you know (e.g. Al-Ikhlas).

Bow & rise

Bowing (ruku)

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ

Subhaana rabbiyal-‘azeem.

Glory to my Lord, the Most Great.

Rising

سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ۝ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ

Sami‘a-llaahu liman hamidah. Rabbanaa wa laka-l-hamd.

Allah hears the one who praises Him. Our Lord, to You is all praise.

Prostrate

Prostration (sujud)

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَىٰ

Subhaana rabbiyal-a‘laa.

Glory to my Lord, the Most High.

Sit briefly

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي

Rabbighfir lee.

My Lord, forgive me.

Prostrate again

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَىٰ

Subhaana rabbiyal-a‘laa.

Same as before. Stand, takbir - that is one unit. Repeat from Al-Fatihah.

Tashahhud

Final sitting (tashahhud)

التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَىٰ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

At-tahiyyaatu lillaahi was-salawaatu wat-tayyibaat. As-salaamu ‘alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. As-salaamu ‘alaynaa wa ‘alaa ‘ibaadillaahis-saaliheen. Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illallaah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasooluh.

All greetings, prayers and pure words are for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

Blessings on the Prophet (final sitting only)

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ. اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

Allaahumma salli ‘alaa Muhammad, wa ‘alaa aali Muhammad, kamaa sallayta ‘alaa Ibraaheem, wa ‘alaa aali Ibraaheem, innaka hameedun majeed. Allaahumma baarik ‘alaa Muhammad, wa ‘alaa aali Muhammad, kamaa baarakta ‘alaa Ibraaheem, wa ‘alaa aali Ibraaheem, innaka hameedun majeed.

O Allah, send Your grace and blessing on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You did on Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. Then make your own dua.

3 or 4 unit prayers

At the end of unit 2, say the tashahhud only, then stand and pray the rest reciting Al-Fatihah alone. The blessings and dua come in the last sitting.

Ending

Salam

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaah.

Peace and the mercy of Allah be upon you.

After the salam

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ

Astaghfirullaah.

I seek Allah’s forgiveness.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

Allaahumma antas-salaam, wa minkas-salaam, tabaarakta yaa dhal-jalaali wal-ikraam.

O Allah, You are Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, Owner of majesty and honour.

Tasbih on the fingers

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ   الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ   اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Subhaanallaah ×33   Alhamdulillaah ×33   Allaahu akbar ×34.

Then your own dua, and any voluntary units for that prayer.
